DetailsFor Vivienne Westwood’s Autumn Winter 1994 collection “On Liberty” the designer sought to create an entirely new silhouette. Devoid of the safety pins and pirate-inspired suits the designer instead embraced a more audacious and feminine silhouette by having her models wear padded skirts, kilts and other bottoms that created the illusion of a larger derriére. Her intent, however, was not to be sexually provocative but to explore new cuts and forms.
