Hydrangea (Violet) Original painting, "Violet Crown"

Violet-pink hydrangea; watercolor on Arches 300# cold press paper. Paper measures 9x12. Painted image is 8-1/8 x 11-1/4”. The painting is available framed or unframed. The matted and framed version measures 14 x 17". The frame is a beautiful, handmade walnut. The mat and glass are from a local frame shop. The glass is UV protected.  I took a photo one day at Oregon Gardens Resort near Silverton, Oregon, of this gorgeous hybrid hydrangea variety, called, "Violet Crown". I kept it in my inspiration file for a year before finally painting it. Finding such beauty and spending hours focusing on it to do my best to replicate it, is one of my great joys.
