The Three Chord team and I loved last year's Double Oak so much we agreed a follow up was a given despite them having extremely limited stocks of this type of barrel. The nose is packed with brown butter, sweet honey, light cola essence, sweet oak, caramel candies and a pop of dark fruits. The palate is rich and viscous, the most of the three barrels this week, and the oak is present but well defined. Vanilla and espresso, blackberry reduction, buttercream and a hint of nutty funk. January's double oak reminded me of an oakier Baker's, and the sentiment holds true with this
