Meadow Parsnip is an upright herbaceous perennial with toothed trifoliate foliage at the base and up the stems that end in compound umbels.  These umbels can be packed with tiny marron or yellow flowers that bloom in late spring into summer.  Small winged fruits follow after flowering.  Flowers best in full sun and moist well-drained soils.   Thaspium trifoliatum is a host plant for the Black Swallowtail.
