Osage Thornless Blackberry is an easy care upright variety of the deciduous shrub with exceptionally sweet berries and long storage life.  The pink-white rose-like flowers give way to clusters of large blackberries in summer that ripen in June.  Fruits best in full sun and rich, moist, slightly acidic well-drained soils.  Osage's low chill requirement (45 F) makes it a good choice for the south.  Excellent disease and pest resistance, but intolerant of wet soils.  Type:  Shrub  Origins: East N. America; GA Native Height:  4' - 5' Spread:  3’ - 4' Spacing:  3' USDA Hardiness Zone:  6 - 10 Culture:  Full Sun, Part Sun Bloom Color:  White Season of Interest:  Summer MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Medium Maintenance.  Water regularly. Remove fruiting canes to the ground immediately after harvest, non-fruiting canes can be tip pruned in summer.  Generally performs best when staked. Wilt, Anthracnose, and botrytis can be serious disease problems
