Spotted Beebalm is an upright native herbaceous perennial with highly aromatic dark green foliage and layers of very showy bract between whorls of spotted tubular flowers. The colors can vary, with the bracts from white to purple, and the flowers cream to yellow with purple spotting which bloom through summer.  Best bloom in full sun and well-drained soil.  Deer resistant. Monarda punctata is a host for the Gray Marvel Moth and Snout Moth, and supports three specialized bees.  Attracts bees, butterflies, moths, and hummingbirds.
