In this piece, the figure is no longer suspended in place — she’s rising. Though still submerged, her face turns upward toward the light, capturing a moment of clarity. The glowing surface above reflects a brighter future now within view. “Reaching the Surface” represents the turning point; although not a complete escape, but forward motion.
