Its original name is actually Bai Hao oolong and it has another beautiful nickname, Champaign Oolong. Unlike most other oolongs that are made from more ripe big leaves, the Bai Hao oolong is made from one bud with two tender young leaves, hence it’s called “Bai Hao” oolong (meaning white buds).
