The Statue of Liberty Half Dollar is minted in copper-nickel. The Statue of Liberty Silver Dollar coin is minted in 90% silver. Both coins were authorized in commemoration of the centennial of the Statue of Liberty. The designs of both coins are described below. The Ellis Island Dollar obverse inscriptions are Ellis Island, Gateway to America in the left field and In God We Trust and the Mint Mark is in the right field along Lady Liberty's bottom skirt line.
