Course Description Workers must prevent injury and damage when welding, cutting, and brazing. The risk from fatal injuries alone is more than four deaths per thousand workers over a working lifetime. Therefore, care must be taken to ensure that work is performed safely. This course introduces standard welding, cutting, and brazing hazards and ways to prevent injury and damage. Ideal learners are employees who perform hot work. Course Objectives Identify fire prevention techniques used during welding, cutting, and brazing. Recognize hazards associated with oxyacetylene and arc welding and methods to prevent these hazards. Recall the proper handling, transportation, use, and storage of compressed gas cylinders. Identify personal protective equipment (PPE) to wear during hot work operations.
