This is a shorter mala because of the rondelle beads (they are shaped like pancakes as opposed to being round like many beads). With the pendant, this mala rests on the chest or the breat bone for most folks. Bracelets are made with approximately 23-30 beads.  The bracelets are stretchy and made with elastic. The malas do not stretch and are made with durable, nylon string.
