One thing I've noticed when it comes to financial articles/workbooks/resources - is that they always assume the reader is middle-class and that there's some hidden resource you have in your life that you can just save, invest, or side-hustle your way into stability. I get that it's hard to create financial tools for people who are struggling because there are SO many reasons why they might be struggling. My workbook doesn't have any magic, eye-opening, solutions, or financial advice. What it does focus on is where/how/when you're beating yourself up about finances and explore feelings of shame/guilt/anxiety around money and finances. I think that's something that is always overlooked but so needed. My childhood created financial anxiety so severe that it caused executive dysfunction. At one point in my life, I was so anxious about paying bills that I was too anxious to make myself pay bills. It was a vicious cycle that I felt so alone in.
