You're probably familiar with the Pain Scale. When you're experiencing pain, doctors ask you, on a scale of 1-10, how bad your pain is. I have anxiety and I was looking for a similar scale. I didn't find one that perfectly fit what I needed so I decided to create one myself. This led to me creating multiple other scales, including this one for overwhelm. I personally find it so valuable to be able to categorize my experiences. It helps me communicate with the people around me, check in with myself, and recognize when I need to focus on my self-care.
