Kabochas are similar to buttercups but, if properly cured, among the sweetest of all squash. Very tender, bright-orange flesh is smooth, nutty, stringless and sweet and perfect for baking, mashing or pies. Slightly flattened, globe-shaped fruits on vigorous, short vines with a wide spread.
