The model number (stamp on the case back) indicates that this watch is dated from 1968. "Hamilton's lineup of automatic (self winding) movements is an entire genre of watch collecting unto itself." The first Hamilton automatic watches were introduced in 1954. Over the next 16 years, many different automatic watch models were introduced with prefixes like "Accumatic", "Thin-o-matic" or just "Automatic". Also, Auto's with calendar functions were often part of the Dateline series.
