1940s Midland (Delma/Certina) STRIKING Case Midland watch Company was founded in 1924, and later became Delma. The import marks on this particular watch read “BXJ”, and points to Certina as possibly being the manufacturer of the movement as a private label job for Midland/Delma. This is an incredibly striking and unusual case design. The Bezel is 10k RGP, and the caseback was manufactured by iD, and is constructed of sterling silver. The movement is in good running order and is accurate to +/- 2 minutes per day. The dial itself is in very good condition. It is apparent that this watch was well cared for over it’s life. The glass crystal is also free of any major blemishes It measures:36mm Lug to Lug29mm wide9.7mm thickThe strap is a vintage strap, and shows some nice character. I personally felt that this added to the charm of the watch, and in no way detracts from it’s beauty. You can change it out easily should you decide to go another direction. Thank you for looking.
