The original Point Wilson Light Station was built in 1879 within Fort Worden State Park and then further improved with a taller 51-foot lantern room in 1913. making it the tallest in the Puget Sound. This shot was made on a freezing day with a bank of clouds partially obscuring Mount Baker sitting about 60 miles away. Nerds: I used a special "super-resolution" technique for this photo where I took 23 photos in rapid succession with slight camera movement in between. When processed, the images are stacked, expanded in resolution, then statistically blended using a median function.
