14k Yellow Gold 1906 Australian Black Opal Triplet Slide Pendant *VIDEO*

For sale is an antique 14k yellow gold pendant with an Australian black opal triplet and seed pearls.  I had my jeweler add a double bail to convert this pendant from a brooch so it could be enjoyed and worn.  The opal is a triplet, a natural Australian opal that is backed in onyx and covered with transparent quartz.  The opal is exceptionally full of fire, and flashes with lots of cherry red, orange, yellow and lime green, as well as occasional pinpricks of bright blue and purples.  The opal is a domed marquise shape, and is secure in a hand-crafted bezel setting.  The opal is framed by a halo of tiny round seed pearls.  The pendant is backed in gold with a double slide-style bail to accommodate any style chain in your jewel box.  The opal has separated slightly from the clear quartz layer at the pointed edges (see photos). The pendant is engraved in beautiful calligraphy on the back with initials (DMR) and the date (1906.).  This is a large opa
