2.7"   Moss agate is a type of agate, a variety of chalcedony, known for its green or moss-like inclusions resembling foliage. These inclusions are often minerals like chlorite, hornblende, or other materials that create unique patterns. Formation begins when silica-rich water percolates through porous rocks, such as volcanic rocks or limestone. As the water seeps through, it deposits layers of silica, forming concentric bands or patterns. The green or brownish inclusions develop due to the presence of other minerals and oxides during the formation process, giving moss agate its distinct appearance. Over time, the process repeats, adding more layers and enhancing the stone's beauty.
