Skill Building Science Grades 3-4

Help students deepen their understanding of science concepts with lessons that encourage them to think like scientists. The physical, life, and earth science activities in Skill-Building Science will enhance any existing science program. The activities cover basic topics, such as states of matter, simple machines, and heat energy, as well as vertebrates, food chains, rocks, and weather. These concepts and others will pique students' interest through hands-on investigations, experimental design projects, engineering challenges, and science vocabulary and writing exercises. Through specific activities in Skill-Building Science, students will also have opportunities to hone important skills, such as observing, measuring, and graphing. Finally, students will read short biographies and complete accompanying activities about scientists who work in applicable fields.
