Bergitte Cardigan Pattern
Bergitte is knit completely in the round, bottom up. The ribbing and the button bands are cast on and knit together for the entire ribbing portion. Next the button bands are placed on holders (to be dealt with later) and then a steek is added and the body is knit. Next you knit the sleeves. Then you join the sleeves to the body and knit the yoke. Then you will cut the steek and pick up and knit the button bands. Sew them onto the sweater with a mattress stitch. Sew on the buttons. Knit the neckband. Graph the underarms and wear immediately. It’s a quick knit. I have included instructions for a cropped body and 3/4 length sleeves and for a full length body and sleeves.Bergitte is available in twelve sizes from XXS to 4XL. Please decide which size you would like to make based on the finished measurements.SizesXXS-4XLFinished MeasurementsBergitte has a 1-5 inch positive ease and the model is wearing it at a 4 inch positive ease.Chest: 30 ¼ (32½, 35, 37½, 39 7/8, 41¾, 44½, 48, 50¾, 52¾, 55
