Bolt Type Anchor Shackles while similar to screw pin shackles, are a better choice in permanent or long-term applications or any situation where the load may slide and cause the shackle pin to rotate. The bolt/nut/cotter pin design prevents accidental removal of the bolt from the anchor shackle while in use. This stainless steel shackle is drop forged in durable and corrosion-resistant Type 316 stainless steel.Compared to galvanized anchor shackles, Type 316 Stainless steel shackles are much better suited for high humidity or marine applications. Stainless steel has a sufficient amount of chromium present so that chromium oxide film forms. This film prevents further corrosion and prevents it from spreading to the internal part of the anchor shackle.
