Daruma Charm

Inspired by a Buddhist monk, Bodhidharma, the daruma is a traditional Japanese talisman.  This talisman is a reminder of one's own life goals. The Daruma represents good luck, support, and self-perseverance, a reminder of staying the path. While visualizing a promise or goal, the owner paints in the left eye. Once the goal is accomplished, the right eye is filled in, giving the Daruma his 'vision' back as a gesture of gratitude for helping achieve the goal.
