An African Red Slip (ARS) ware pitcher with a rounded, slightly tapered body that stands on a ring foot, two handles that attach at the shoulder and base of the neck with incised decoration, the neck tapering up to a round mouth.  ARS is distinguished by its deep orange-red slip and rounded forms.  It was predominantly produced the in the Roman provinces in North Africa (modern day Tunisia), and became popular throughout the empire by the 3rd century.
