DETAILS: Oil on Canvas 24" x 18" x 1.5" Sides are painted as a continuation of the painting Wire on back ready to hang ARTIST NOTES: This painting was painted outside at a friend’s cattle ranch in Tuolumne County, California. It was early spring and the wildflowers were just starting to come up. They were everywhere - tomcat clover and lupine, popcorn flower, poppies and many others I cannot name. Maybe it is because of the cattle grazing, but the flowers were all especially tiny and short. I would pick a few at a time and put them in a little jar of water on my easel to keep fresh in the sun. We need wildflowers. We need beauty in the chaos and unplanned. We need to get messy and let ourselves go, let ourselves grow.
