Thank you for supporting my work! xx Underneath the Same Big Sky is a collection of essays written during my midlife metamorphosis. It borrows its name from the 1986 animated classic, American Tale, and its cover features the pomegranate tree in my estranged mother's orchard, shot on film with my vintage Canon. I chose the title to reflect the transition I made from SoCal to NorCal while writing this book, a reminder to be where my feet are during this Hermit era of my life, all while knowing everyone I love is looking up at the same big sky. In my eighth self-published book, I've written about empty nesting and the experience of grieving my living mother, aging in a patriarchal society and being single in my 40s, saying goodbye to the land where I was born and raised and moving out into the country to embrace a new level of solitude.
