Country Birds | Hwy 174
The Red Frog is a townie dive bar off Highway 174 in Colfax, something that exists in a time capsule, a remnant of an erstwhile era of motorcycle clubs and indoor smoking. It overlooks a sweeping view of the Sierra Nevada, and tucked in the woods behind it is a secret art installation of sorts, featuring old broken down cars, Christmas light, plastic skeletons, and these two cutie pie flamingos. I pulled over on the side of 174 during a drive back from Grass Valley to get this shot. The sun was setting and light was scarce so I used a slow shutter and wide aperture. I hope you'll enjoy these pink country birds on your wall.
