The beautiful woodblock print,'Minobu-gawa Ura Fuji' (Ura Fuji Viewed from Minobu River), is by Hokusai Katsushika (1760–1849). It is part of the series 'Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji' (Fugaku sanjūrokkei) and is a re-carved edition. This edition was published by Yuyudo in the Showa era (the 1980s) and is smaller than the regular Oban size. The print features highly detailed carving and beautiful embossing, reflecting the high-quality craftsmanship of this famous publisher. This woodblock print depicts the reverse side of Mt. Fuji in Koshu. Mt. Fuji is faintly visible between rocky mountains and the bustling highway where travelers come and go. The Minobu River adds to the scene, creating a beautifully arranged landscape.
