Kohan no Ame, Matsue (Rain by Lakeside, Matsue)

This print was first published in 1932. This is a later edition printed from original blocks by the original publisher. The 7 mm Watanabe seal is located near right edge of image and red "Heisei" seal in right margin. Left margin is title in Japanese and in lower left margin is date "Showa 7 nen 2 gatsu saku" (Printed February 1932). Very peaceful rainy scene. Technique: Woodblock Paper size: 10 and 3/4 inches wide by 15 and 5/8 inches tall Sheet number: N/A Date: Showa 15 nen (1940) Signed: Signed Hasui with red artist seal "sui" Condition: Very good condition for it's age. Two drying hole on the left margin. Slightly toned from it's age. Tape residues at the corner of verso. A pinpoint brown spot on the lower part of mountain from it's age which is almost not noticeable.
