Luxo L-1 Articulated Chrome Desk Task Lamp c.1960

ABOUT This is an original Luxo articulated, chrome desk lamp. This lamp was originally designed in 1937 by Jac Jacobsen and it's classic design still looks modern today. The shade has an inner plastic shade. This piece has retained its original finish. The wiring is in excellent condition. CREATOR LUXO ASA, Norway. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1960s MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Chrome,  CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor chipping on the shade. DIMENSIONS H 42 in. max, Shade 8.25 in. diameter. HISTORY In 1937, Jac Jacobsen, the founder of Luxo, invented the Luxo L-1 lamp which was the inspiration for the 1986 animated short film, "Luxo Jr." by Pixar Studios. The short subsequently became the subject of a lawsuit from Luxo.
