ABOUT An original Victorian era solid brass microscope and traveling case. The microscope functions properly and smoothly raises up and down over the solid bronze stage. The mirror underneath swings right and left and rotates to different strengths. Stamped on the base with the maker and serial No. 25889 which dates to 1892. The wooden traveling case has a brass handle and three pull out boxes housing different lens and several metal, wood and glass tools. The piece is in good condition with the appropriate patina for its age. CREATOR E. Leitz Wetzlar, Germany. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1892. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES  Leather, brass, optical glass, velvet. CONDITION Good. Minor wear consistent with age and use.
