ABOUT A large primitive, distressed wooden bench made from the assemblage of two different pieces. Common for the period. The top is made from one plank of wood and has a scored, checkerboard pattern made from a drafting table. The legs are hand turned. This piece has retained its original paint and patina. CREATOR Unknown. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1850s. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Solid Oak, Steel. Wax Paste Finish applied. CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. Very Sturdy. DIMENSIONS H 20 in. W 76 in. D 17.75 in. HISTORY Unknown.
