Hand-painted Devotional Egg of the Risen Christ

A hand-painted and hand-lacquered image of the Risen Christ and two angels adorns this azure gilded Easter egg. Made in the Western iconographic tradition, it features a Latin cross on verso.  May be used devotionally as part of a home shrine, or decoratively on an Easter table or in an Easter basket. Features loop at top for a ribbon. Traditionally Easter eggs are also hung on Christmas trees as a reminder of the Mystery of Redemption.   This is a salvaged antique product. Very good condition, consistent with age. Measures approximately 2”tall by 1.5 wide.  Clean with a soft dusting cloth and wood orange oil.
