
Antique Nihonto - Wakizashi in Shirasaya - Early Edo(350 years old), NBTHK attributed to Kaneyasu
This unsigned wakizashi dates to the Early Edo period (about 400 years old), and is NBTHK attributed to Kaneyasu. It features prominent muneyaki (hamon on the spine) From Markus Sesko 's Swordsmiths of Japan KANEYASU (包保), 2nd gen., Enpō (延宝, 1673-1681), Settsu – “Sesshū Ōsaka-jū Mutsu no Kami Kaneyasu” (摂州大坂住陸奥守包保), “Mutsu no Kami Kaneyasu” (陸奥守包保), “Mutsu no Kami Kaneshige” (陸奥守包重), “Mutsu no Daijō Kaneyasu” (陸奥大掾包保), “Kaneyasu” (包保), real name Dan Kyūdayū (団九太夫), he came originally from Tango province but went later to Ōsaka to study there under the 1st gen.
