(Russian: Да здравствует наша родная, непобедимая Красная Армия!) is a 1938 Soviet propaganda poster by Dmitriy Moor and Sergei Senkin (Russian: Дмитрий Моор и Сергей Сенькин). The poster was released on February 23rd, 1938 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. However, this was a time not just of celebration but also political intrigue on the national and international level. Conspicuous in his absence from such celebrations was Lev Trotsky, one of the founders of the Red Army. He had been exiled from the Soviet Union eleven years prior and was at the time reeling from the death of his son one week earlier. Of course, many key military leaders would also not be enjoying the celebrations, as Stalin's Great Purge (1936–1938) was by now in full swing. Many leaders at the very top of the Red Army hier
