280048 SdKfz 250/251 Expansion Set - SdKfz 250/9 & 251/23

The SdKfz 250/9 leichter Schützenpanzerwagen (2cm) was a standard reconnaissance variant. Introduced in March 1942, 30 units were ordered and sent to Russia to replace armoured cars in the reconnaissance role, armed with a 2cm KwK 38 autocannon and a coaxial MG (MG34 or MG32) in a low, open-topped turret identical to that of the SdKfz 222 armoured car. When the SdKfz 250/1 Alte was replaced with the newer SdKfz 250/1 Neu, the SdKfz 250/9 received a Hängelafette 38 and FuG 12 radio upgrade.
