Large red leather decorative binding, blindstamped and gilded. This prticularl style of binding is most common from the 1840s-1860s, but this book is dated 1873. It offers a comprehensive account of Christ’s life and bible history, richly illustrated throughout with both full page and marginal illustrations in black and white. Some surface soiling and rubbing around the edges of the leather, and one wrinkled page corner, as shown. Overall very good.
