Aventurine Faceted Rosary

Green Aventurine is a variety of quartz that gives off a subtle shimmering or glistening effect due to inclusions of Mica or other minerals. It is known as the "Stone of Opportunity," Its name is derived from the Italian "a Ventura" or "all’avventura", which means “by chance”. It refers to an Italian glass from the 1700s, that was accidentally produced when a worker dropped metal filings into a vat of melting glass. Once cooled, people loved the randomly spaced iridescent sparkles and started using the stone in jewelry making. The name "Aventurine" was given to the natural stone which so closely resembled the industrial material. This gorgeous green aventurine rosary is made with 8mm faceted Hail Marys and 10mm faceted Our Fathers.
