Dyed with Madder & Marigold Madder root is best known for its brick reds, but depending on the material of the garment as well as extraction process, can also provide vibrant magentas as well as the occasional orange tone. Madder harvested for its red roots that are high in alizarin. The roots themselves are already a vibrant red color and the plants can take anywhere from three to five years to reach maturity. When combined with marigold. these two easily homegrown dye materials produce a vibrant peachy orange!
