Pyrite, also known as fool's gold, is an iron sulfide mineral. It is a little more durable than its counterpart, its Mohs hardness is 6-6.5. Its crystal patterns vary.  They can be octahedral, cubic, or pyritohedral. Its name, Pyrite, comes from Greece and means fire.  They named it this because if you hit 2 pieces of pyrite together, it will create sparks.
