It is compatible with both 2-phase (A, B) and 3-phase (A, B, Z) encoders. In addition, it supports open collector output, voltage output, and line driver output encoders. The module is equipped with USB and Grove(I2C) communication interfaces. It is powered by USB bus power, Grove (3.3V or 5V), or an external input (5V or 3.3V).
