900 Silver Filigree Picture Frames - Set of 2 by Goldis | Butterfly Design
Dating to the 1950s or so, may I offer this pair of Goldis, Middle Eastern made, 900 Silver filigree picture frames - the design composed of masses of butterflies. With a small hook at the bottom to keep any photo in place, the bar back also serves to keep the paper in place as well as serve as a hanger for the piece. There is no glass - a new piece could be cut or, do as most people do, just add a crystalline plastic covering. Since the frames are quire lightweight, you can hang from any wall. To turn into tabletop frames, one would need to add a backing that holds an easel. Height is about 4-1/2"; width is just shy of 4". Combined weight of the pair is 72 grams. Lovely condition with one piece having more of a dark patina than the other. (SCJ/#899a)
