From the UK and dating to the late 1890s or so, may I offer this wonderful black and white photograph of a country parson, clergyman, vicar, reverend, pastor or padre. The dapper gent wear a hat and his watch chain is quite visible. He stands in front of a painted country setting. What is so fabulous about this image is the back of the card - it seems the photographer won a ton of awards in the UK - Liverpool, Northampton, Dundee, Cornwall, London as well as overseas. Some of the stamps have a depiction of Queen Victoria, other stamps have different profiles/stamps - they all represent awards won by the photographer. And the photographer? Lafayette, Dublin, Glasgow and Manchester, Photographer to Her Majesty the Queen by Royal Warrant and the Emperor of Germany! The card measures 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" approx; image size is 3-15/16" x 5-1/2". Very nice condition for its age - light markings to the front while the back has a bit of torn paper to the top edge but nothing that really interferes
