Founders Day Call – Ferrari Red Acrylic

Honor Butch Richenback’s birthday and Founder’s Day with a faithful remake of his very first 1976 design. It was smaller than today’s calls and had a classic shape influenced by his Uncle Clyde Hancock, duck call maker and 2-time world champion in the 1940s. This call had a 1/4” bore, which produced a quiet sound, but what a sweet sound. We took this classic ’70s design and gave it a modern upgrade. I thought it would be a really cool idea to celebrate his birthday by bringing this call back and letting me put my twist on the sound, to give it a little modern upgrade. So even though the call is turned and milled on cnc machine, I then take the call and bore it out, to give it more punch and volume without losing backpressure.
