Laulu Shawl Class with Sari Nordlund (Saturday Aug 2nd, 10a-12p)

Join us for this special in-store event where Sari Nordlund walks you through the Laulu Shawl.  The Laulu shawl class is the perfect opportunity to learn the basics of both lace and cable knitting. Sari will teach you how to knit cables with and without cable needles and how to read charts. You will also learn all the stitches you need to complete your own Laulu shawl, including yarn overs, the m1L increase and the decreases: k2tog and ssk. The Laulu shawl knitting pattern is included in the class. Required knowledge: basic knit and purl stitches  Materials needed: Yarn for swatching. The yarns should be preferably DK weight, for example merino or other smooth fibers with good stitch definition in light, unicolor colorway so you can easily see your stitches. You can also use a combination of fingering weight yarn and matching silk mohair.
