Getting Together was a short-lived sitcom that aired on the ABC television network during the 1971-72 season. The series starred Bobby Sherman and Wes Stern as aspiring songwriters Bobby Conway and Lionel Poindexter. Bobby composed the music while Lionel, who was tone deaf, penned the lyrics. The two lived in an antique store with Bobby’s younger sister Jenny (played by Susan Neher). Their landlady, Rita Simon, was played by Pat Carroll. Jack Burns played Rita’s boyfriend Rudy Colcheck, a police officer. To help pay the rent, Bobby worked at a recording studio. The pilot for the series had aired the previous spring as the first-season finale episode of The Partridge Family in which Lionel and Bobby were introduced to each other by the Partridges.
