Mauve Taupe Beige Bakelite 1948 Telechron Model 8H67 Vacuum Tube AM Radio Alarm Clock Excellent Condition! Sounds Great! Piece Of History! DESCRIPTION: Tabletop vacuum tube radio manufactured by Telechron in 1948 time frame in excellent physical and working condition. This along with Model 8H59 were the first clock radios of the twentieth century. Before this radios were just radios no clocks, and alarm clocks were just buzzer or bell alarms no radio. General Electric liked the clock radio design so much they bought Telechron Company. GE Telechron clock, alarm, and calendar various movements became the industry standard until digital in the 80s. CABINET CONDITION: Cabinet is original factory painted Bakelite. Hard to describe the color. It is a cross between grey and lavender. Mauve. Original factory painted color. Not repainted, not touched up o over sprayed. Has small paints dings throughout due to age and normal wear and tear not abuse or neglect. There is a tight hairline crack on
