The concept: throw some perfectly good maple syrup in used charred-oak rum barrels (cue the scoffing sounds and thinly vailed dismay). But it worked! The maple came out tasting even better than we imagined with just a hint of rummy, booze flavor and vanilla notes from the oak. So take that maple purists - just kidding - we're all friends.
