I have always been fascinated by the ulu. An Inuit tool made of slate that was translated by the early traders into such a simple but beautifully elegant tool. We spent months studying patterns and styles until we selected a very traditional Hudson Bay style traded ulu.  The white oak wood handle is made from a whiskey barrel stave. the forged fitting is made from banding stock. The high quality L-6 blade is thin, keen and razor sharp. All assembled with steel pins from nails, just like the originals.  We made them so sharp that we needed a high quality sheath to go with them. So our 7/8 oz Herman oak leather has been steel stapled together. With a beautiful sand brown brass button to secure the sheath to the tool, a belt loop across the back, and an additional lanyard hole, this tool comes ready to strap on and carry in any configuration you desire.
