Adtran Total Access 924e 4240924L1 Description: The Adtran Total Access 924e is an IP business gateway designed for providing SIP and T1 / PRI connectivity to older analog phones, faxes, and modems. The 4240924L1 has both a built in IP router and stateful inspection firewall. The Total Access 924e offers 24 FXS ports for connecting legacy analog equipment. In addition the unit has several more interfaces including four T1 network interfaces for acting as a multi-T1 router. Two of the T1 interfaces can be configured for DSX-1 applications as needed. An FXO trunk has been added for emergency backup dialing if T1 trunks and/or SIP functionality should fail. All of this is combined with 2 fast Ethernet network interfaces that allow the IP gateway to connect to SIP trunks. All of these capabilities allow the 924e to function as a session border controller (SBC). The 4240924L1 is the first generation Total Access 924e.
